Cumbria has a strong reputation of being one of the main tourist destinations in the UK. But we live here. We eat, sleep, go to school, work, shop and travel around here…or we should.

We should be supporting our local café, book store, clothing retailer, restaurant because if we don’t then our streets will be empty. We can already see that this is happening to many of our local high streets.

We are here to help you explore the region and fall in love with everything it has to offer.

We love writing the stories behind the businesses and as such our features will have a host of amazing places to go to. Whether it is a family friendly day out or a romantic restaurant you are looking for or perhaps you need a gift for a special occasion, you will find everything you need.

Let’s talk locations! We don’t always like to venture to new places. It can be out of our comfort zone but if we don’t get in the car/bus/train and explore then how would we know what we are missing out on?

Thousands of events take place in Cumbria all year round. There are beer festivals, bouncy castle playdays, coffee mornings, music, theatre, art and so much more. With your help, our events calendar will have it all!

We can’t wait to introduce you to new places or reintroduce old favourites.

Email us at info@eyeoncumbria.co.uk about a place, shop, restaurant we should visit and tell us why – we haven’t finished exploring Cumbria yet, and you shouldn’t either!

Make the most of Cumbria and all it has to offer.
