This is Eye on Cumbria
Cumbria is renowned as one of the UK’s leading tourist destinations, yet for those of us who are lucky enough to live here, it’s easy to overlook what’s on our doorstep. Eye on Cumbria was created with that in mind.
From breathtaking landscapes and talented artisans to outstanding food, independent businesses, and some of the country’s best village restaurants, Cumbria is full of incredible experiences—not just for visitors, but for the people who call it home.
We’re here to help you rediscover the county, whether that’s finding a hidden café, attending local events, enjoying unique family experiences, or exploring new activities. Whatever it may be, we want to celebrate and explore Cumbria alongside you.
We also support local businesses every step of the way, offering newsletters, social media guidance, networking opportunities, trade events, and advice across everything from marketing to accounting. Alongside this, we promote businesses through storytelling, features, and targeted exposure.
If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you—email us at info@eyeoncumbria.co.uk and let’s see how we can support you.
Who is keeping her Eye on Cumbria?
I’m Amy, with a degree in English and a strong background in marketing, copywriting, and PR. I’ve worked across tourism, hospitality, events, and festivals since my teens, spending over 18 years in Cumbria as an event planner before naturally moving into writing and marketing—helping businesses find their voice and connect with the right audience.
I’ve launched brands, sold out events, written campaigns, and built marketing strategies from the ground up. I’ve always been a writer, a planner, and a storyteller—someone who starts with an idea and turns it into something meaningful and effective.
Living and working in Cumbria, I saw just how much there is to explore—and how often even locals miss it. That’s why I created Eye on Cumbria in 2019: to showcase the people, businesses, and stories that make this county so special. Since then, we’ve supported hundreds of businesses and helped thousands of people discover more of Cumbria.
With a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of marketing and PR, I’m here to help businesses grow while celebrating everything that makes this place unique. Let’s explore Cumbria together.
